How to merge PDF files into one

A job application with a CV, cover letter and certificates; a month of bank statements; scanned pages that came out as separate files. One PDF is easier to send, upload and print. Here is how to make it.

Step by step

  1. Open Merge PDF and select your PDFs, or drop them into the box. Hold Ctrl (Cmd on a Mac) to pick several at once.
  2. Drag the files into the order you want, or use the arrows. The first file comes first in the merged PDF.
  3. Click Merge PDF. The combined file downloads straight away.

Your files stay on your device

Merging happens in your browser with open-source code, so the PDFs are never uploaded. That makes it quick even on a slow connection, and suitable for documents you would rather not send anywhere.

When merging does not work

A PDF protected with a password must be unlocked first with Unlock PDF (you need the password). Damaged PDFs can often be fixed with Repair PDF and merged afterwards.
