Step by step
- Open Word to PDF in your phone's browser (Chrome, Safari or any other).
- Tap Select File and choose the DOCX from your Files app, Downloads, Google Drive or iCloud Drive.
- Tap Convert, then Download. The PDF is saved in your Downloads or Files.
For old Word files ending in .doc, use DOC to PDF.
Keep the layout right
- Use common fonts such as Calibri, Arial or Times New Roman. Unusual fonts may be replaced with a similar one.
- Check page breaks in the PDF before sending. If a heading sits alone at the bottom of a page, add a page break before it in Word.
- Images and tables are kept as in the document.
Why send a PDF instead of Word?
- It looks exactly the same on every phone and computer.
- Nobody can change it by accident.
- Most portals and email filters expect it.
Need to send photos of documents?
If you photographed a certificate or form, turn the photo into a PDF with JPG to PDF. iPhone photos can go straight through HEIC to PDF.
