How to make a favicon

- Adjust. Choose the shape (square, rounded or circle), padding and colours, and check the previews at 16 and 32 pixels, the size of a browser tab.

Tips for a sharp favicon
A favicon is shown at 16 x 16 pixels, so fine detail disappears. Use your logo mark without small text, or one or two bold letters on a strong colour. Check the 16 px preview: if you cannot recognise it there, simplify it. On WordPress, Shopify, Wix or Squarespace, upload the 512 px PNG as the "site icon" instead of editing HTML.
