Why convert PSD to JPG?
PSD is the Photoshop file format, which most people and apps cannot open. Converting PSD to JPG lets you send a design to a client, post it online or preview it without Photoshop.
When to keep the PSD
Always keep the PSD: it holds the layers, text and effects you need to change the design later.
Tips for the best result
- Layers are flattened into one picture, just as the design looks in Photoshop.
- Transparent areas become white in the JPG.
- Quality 85 to 90 is a good choice for designs with text.
Common problems and fixes
- The JPG looks blank or different from Photoshop.
- The converter uses the combined preview that Photoshop stores in the file. Save the PSD with Maximize Compatibility turned on, then convert again.
- The file will not convert.
- Very large or damaged PSD files, and PSB (large document) files, may not be readable.
PSD
PSD – Adobe Photoshop Document
PSD is the native layered file format of Adobe Photoshop. It keeps layers, masks and effects for editing, which makes files large and unreadable in most browsers and viewers, so it is usually flattened to PNG or JPG for sharing.

JPG – Joint Photographic Experts Group
JPG (also written JPEG) is the most widely used format for photographs. It uses lossy compression, which keeps files small by discarding fine detail the eye is unlikely to miss. It does not support transparency or animation, and virtually every device, browser and app can open it.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need Photoshop to convert PSD to JPG?
No. Upload the PSD here and download the JPG.
Are my layers kept?
No. JPG is a flat image format, so all visible layers are merged. Keep the PSD for editing.
How do I convert PSD to JPG?
Click Select File or drop your PSD file onto the upload box. Pick the quality and maximum size, and the converted JPG appears in the list below with a download button. You can add many files at once and download them together as a ZIP.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark. To keep the service available for everyone there is a 95MB limit per file and a cap on how many files one connection can process in a short period.
Are my files stored?
Your upload is used only to make the converted file. Images are processed in memory; other files are written to a private temporary folder that is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes. Nothing is kept after the result has been sent back.
Will quality drop?
For images, a little, by design: the image is re-encoded at the Quality you choose (default 75%). Audio and video are re-encoded with high-quality settings; documents keep their text and layout as far as the target format allows. Converting never restores detail that is already missing from the original.
How this works: your file is uploaded over HTTPS and converted on this server with open-source engines (libvips for images, FFmpeg for audio and video, LibreOffice and Pandoc for documents, Calibre for ebooks, Ghostscript and Inkscape for PDF and vector files). Images are processed in memory; other files use a private temporary folder that is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes.
