JFIF – JPEG File Interchange Format
JFIF is a JPEG image with a .jfif extension, often produced when saving pictures from a browser. The image data is ordinary JPEG, so it converts to any other image format without extra loss.

JFIF files are ordinary JPEG pictures with an unusual file ending, often produced when saving images from websites on Windows. Many upload forms reject the .jfif ending even though the picture inside is a normal JPEG. Converting gives a standard .jpg file.
There is no reason to keep the .jfif version: the picture is the same JPEG image.

More JFIF conversionsJPG (also written JPEG) is the most widely used format for photographs. It uses lossy compression, which keeps files small by discarding fine detail the eye is unlikely to miss. It does not support transparency or animation, and virtually every device, browser and app can open it.

JFIF (JPEG File Interchange Format) is the standard way JPEG images are stored. Files ending in .jfif are JPEG images; only the name ending is different.
The image is saved again as JPEG, so at very high Quality the difference is invisible.
A setting on some Windows PCs makes browsers save JPEG pictures with the .jfif ending. The picture inside is ordinary JPEG. Convert it here, or type .jpg at the end of the name when you save.
Click Select File or drop your JFIF file onto the upload box. Pick the quality and maximum size, and the converted JPG appears in the list below with a download button. You can add many files at once and download them together as a ZIP.
Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark. To keep the service available for everyone there is a 95MB limit per file and a cap on how many files one connection can process in a short period.
Your upload is used only to make the converted file. Images are processed in memory; other files are written to a private temporary folder that is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes. Nothing is kept after the result has been sent back.
For images, a little, by design: the image is re-encoded at the Quality you choose (default 75%). Audio and video are re-encoded with high-quality settings; documents keep their text and layout as far as the target format allows. Converting never restores detail that is already missing from the original.
