How to resize an image to 200 KB
- Select the photo. Click Select image or drop a JPG, PNG, WEBP or other image.
- Keep 200 KB as the target. The size is already set to 200 KB. Change it if your form asks for something else, for example 150 or 300 KB.
- Resize and download. Click Resize image, check that the new size is under the limit, then download the JPG and upload it to your form.
How the photo is brought under 200 KB
The tool first lowers the JPG quality step by step and keeps the highest quality that fits under 200 KB. Only if the lowest sensible quality is still too big does it make the picture smaller in pixels as well. That gives a sharper result than shrinking the picture straight away. If the form also asks for a size in pixels, switch to Width and height first, or use the image resizer.
Tips for photo and signature uploads
- Crop away empty space first with Crop Image: a smaller area needs fewer KB and stays sharper.
- For a signature, scan or photograph it on white paper; a plain background compresses very well.
- For a passport-style photo, make it with the passport photo maker, then resize it here.
- iPhone photos (HEIC) open in Safari; in other browsers convert them with HEIC to JPG first.
