EPUB – Electronic Publication
EPUB is the open standard ebook format. Text reflows to fit any screen, and it is supported by nearly every e-reader except older Kindles.
More EPUB conversionsConvert EPUB files to AZW3 online for free. Upload one file or many and download the AZW3 results one by one or all together in a ZIP. No sign-up needed.
AZW3, also called KF8, is the modern Kindle format. Kindles cannot open EPUB files copied over USB, so converting EPUB to AZW3 lets you copy DRM-free books straight onto your Kindle with a cable and keep their formatting.
Keep the EPUB: it works in every other reading app and is the format to send with Send to Kindle.

Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark. To keep the service available for everyone there is a 95MB limit per file and a cap on how many files one connection can process in a short period.
Your upload is used only to make the converted file. Images are processed in memory; other files are written to a private temporary folder that is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes. Nothing is kept after the result has been sent back.
For images, a little, by design: the image is re-encoded at the Quality you choose (default 75%). Audio and video are re-encoded with high-quality settings; documents keep their text and layout as far as the target format allows. Converting never restores detail that is already missing from the original.
